Busy Week for Kiwanis Los Altos! - 05/25/2018

May 18 the Kiwanis Club of Los Altos along with Divison 34 and 12 clubs, over 28
Key Club, and many CircleK clubs, assisted in the 40th Anniversary of the Special Games held at West Valley College.    That evening many members attended the Governor's Dinner held at the Shereton Hotel.  2 of our club members were especially honored:  Peter Bergsman was awarded a Distinguished Service Award and Donna Cedarvall was honored with the Mort Korengold Award for outstanding service to her Club, Division and Community.
On Saturday, May 19th the Los Altos Kiwanis Club hosted the 71st Annual Pet Parade, followed by a Club BBQ at Paul's house.

Special Games XL - Follow Your Heart to the Games! - 05/08/2018

Julie and Peter are all smiles at the sight of the 2018 Athlete Special Games t-shirts.
On May 18th at 10am at West Valley College we will welcome nearly 1000 athletes 
from across Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties to compete in our Kiwanis Special Games.  It is a field day like non other, a day where special education children can enjoy a morning of games tailored to their wide range of mobilities. Over 500 Kiwanis members from Division 12 & 34, and members of student led programs, Key Clubs, CKI and Builders Club (high school, college and middle school) will volunteer to make this Day memorable for all.  Join us!  email for more information

71st Annual Pet Parade - 05/03/2018

This is the biggest celebration of its kind, well, ANYWHERE in the World!  Bring your pet and sit and enjoy the parade of vintage cars, local dignataries, Bands, young and OLD!  and of course, the cutest, cuddley-est, smartest, loyal, and most important, loved- PETS!

Bob Galen awarded the 2017 Joint Community Volunteer Service Award - 12/09/2017

hundreds who cheered him on, Bob Galan was selected as one of 8 recipients to receive the Joint Community Volunteer Service Award for 2017.  It was the 35th Annual Awards luncheon and Bob joins fellow Kiwanians in this honor.

Kiwanis Christmas Tree Lot Coming Back to Los Altos





Kiwanians Karen Smith, left, and Martha McClatchie unload holiday trees at the Kiwanis Tree Lot in Los Altos Tuesday morning. The club ordered 1,600 Noble and Nordmann fir trees from a grower in Oregon, and will be selling them from Friday until approximately Dec. 17(or when supply is exhausted) in the Lucky's supermarket parking lot on Grant Road. Kiwanis Los Altos was Honored to have Judy Miner, Chancellor of Foothill & DeAnza CColleges as guest speaker presenting on National, State and local education hot topics in the areas of Community Colleges, DACA and the awesome idea of the Silicon Valley promise to education. Thank you Judy!
